Naturgy provides earthquake relief in Azuero as Enerxe develops rural grid tech
Naturgy has mobilized emergency supplies and equipment to support families and hospitals in the Azuero region following a 7.5 magnitude earthquake and subsequent aftershocks. The company donated over 3,600 liters of potable water, food supplies, and infant care products to aid affected communities. To support healthcare operations, Naturgy provided emergency power plants and lighting towers to hospitals in Las Tablas, Chitré, and Herrera.
In Spain, the Galician company Enerxe, through its distributor UDESA, is participating in the TORRES research project. This initiative aims to improve the quality and security of electricity supply in rural areas of A Coruña. By utilizing artificial intelligence, advanced algorithms, and digital twins, the project seeks to develop tools that can detect service interruptions and identify network anomalies to improve response times in geographically dispersed regions.
