Naturskyddsföreningen reviews party environmental policies
The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (Naturskyddsföreningen) has conducted a review of environmental and climate policies among political parties ahead of local elections.
In a survey conducted in Vimmerby, the Center Party (Centerpartiet) emerged with high environmental ambitions, notably outperforming the Green Party (Miljöpartiet) in local assessments. On a broader scale, the review evaluated parties based on 22 environmental proposals. The Green Party and the Left Party (Vänsterpartiet) both supported all 22 proposals, including those regarding the prohibition of Swedish commercial fishing.
Other rankings showed the Liberals (Liberalerna) supporting 19 proposals, followed by the Center Party with 18. The Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterna) supported 14, while the Christian Democrats (Kristdemokraterna) supported nine. The Moderate Party (Moderaterna) and the Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna) showed the lowest levels of environmental ambition, supporting three and two proposals, respectively.
