Nauheed Cyrusi shares miscarriage experiences and shift to animal welfare

Indian actress Nauheed Cyrusi revealed that she endured two miscarriages – the first in 2018 at three months and a second during the COVID‑19 pandemic. She married in 2017, and after the first loss the couple adopted Jojo, an elderly Cocker Spaniel with impaired vision and hearing, from the SPCA. The repeated pregnancy losses prompted the pair to reconsider their life purpose, deciding to devote themselves to animal welfare rather than pursue IVF treatment.

Cyrusi, known for films such as Anwar, Bhoothnath and Life Mein Kabhie Kabhiee, said she now finds fulfillment in caring for animals, a commitment she and her husband keep largely out of the public eye. She hopes sharing her story highlights both the personal pressure surrounding childbearing and the healing role of animal advocacy.
