Naula Studio announces Necro Pop arcadevania for 2027

Naula Studio has announced Necro Pop, a new 16-bit action platformer described as an ‘Arcadevania’. The game blends fast-paced arcade action with metroidvania-style dungeon exploration.

Developed specifically for the Neo Geo MVS arcade hardware and the Neo Geo AES home console, the title is also scheduled for a digital release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam in 2027.

Players control Poppi, a ghost in the realm of Ghostreach, who uses an ancient amulet to gain a physical form to combat a dark entity known as The Gloam. The game features pixel art graphics, various combat abilities such as magic projectiles, and reusable dungeon mechanics. A free demo featuring a complete third level is currently available on Steam, and a playable version is expected to appear at the Tokyo Game Show 2026.
