Nausar Mata Temple attracts devotees in Ajmer

The ancient Nausar Mata Temple, located in a cave on Nag Pahar near the Ajmer-Pushkar road, is seeing increased devotion during the Shardiya Navratri festival. The temple is unique for its structure, requiring devotees to descend approximately 50 steps into a cave after climbing the mountain to reach the shrine.

According to local priests, the temple houses nine forms of Goddess Durga. Religious tradition holds that Lord Brahma worshipped the Navdurga here to protect the Srishti Yajna from negative forces. The temple, which was renovated by the Gwalior royal family 1,300 years ago, serves as a kuldevi (ancestral deity) for various communities. Devotees visit the site to pray for prosperity and well-being.
