Navair granted unlimited access to New Zealand aerodromes

Australian private charter company Navair has been granted a Foreign Air Operator’s Certificate (FAOC) by the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand. This approval allows the company to operate into New Zealand on demand without previous frequency restrictions.

Previously, Navair was limited to four charter flights per year with a minimum 28-day separation between flights. Under the new certificate, the company can access 13 approved aerodromes, including Auckland, Wellington, Queenstown, Christchurch, Hamilton, Napier, Gisborne, Tauranga, Rotorua, Palmerston North, Nelson, Dunedin, and Invercargill.

Navair CEO Rick Pegus stated that the shift allows the business to offer the same flexibility on trans-Tasman routes that the company provides in Australia. The company is also expanding its fleet, recently adding Pilatus PC-24 aircraft.
