Navantia Australia opens new Canberra hub to bolster defense ties

Navantia Australia has opened a new office in Canberra to strengthen its connection with Australia’s defense and policy sectors. The expansion aims to integrate Australian engineering, sovereign technology, and industrial capabilities with Navantia’s global naval programs.

Inaugurated by the Minister for Defence Industry, Pat Conroy, the new hub is intended to facilitate closer collaboration between the company, the Australian Government, the Department of Defence, research organizations, and industry partners. Navantia representative Gonzalo Mateo-Guerrero stated that the office represents a long-term commitment to investing in Australian talent and technology, which will support the Australian Defence Force and create opportunities for Australian solutions in international markets.

Navantia, a Spanish shipbuilding company with over 400 years of maritime heritage, provides support for Royal Australian Navy platforms and operates in areas including ship design, technical services, digital engineering, and maritime autonomy.
