Navantia cuts emissions intensity by 11.5% in 2025 sustainability report

Navantia released its 2025 Corporate Sustainability Report, showing an 11.5% reduction in Scope 1‑2 emissions intensity, from 7.56 to 6.69 tCO₂e per million euros of activity. The shipbuilder reaffirmed its target of climate‑neutral operations by 2040 and highlighted progress in circular economy, employment and governance.

The company maintained ISO 14001 multisite environmental certification and achieved a 99% waste‑recycling rate across all sites. A flagship “blue carbon” project in the Bay of Cádiz, described as Europe’s largest under a public standard, aims to capture more than 32,000 tCO₂. Navantia’s workforce exceeded 6,700 employees, with over 99% on permanent contracts, and more than €9 million was invested in staff training programmes. Governance improvements included alignment with new EU sustainability reporting standards and strengthened risk‑management systems.
