Navarra education faces salary draft removal and heat‑wave crisis
The Association of Education Inspectors of Navarra (ADIDE) has expressed deep concern after a salary improvement for educational inspectors, which appeared in an earlier draft of the forthcoming Statute for Public Administration staff, was omitted from the version sent to unions. ADIDE says the change was made without any public, technical or administrative explanation, raising questions about transparency, participation and legal certainty in the drafting process.
Separately, the teachers’ union Afapna submitted a report demanding immediate action from the Navarra government to address an extreme heat wave affecting schools. The union highlights classroom temperatures regularly exceeding 30 °C and peaking at 39 °C, a lack of air‑conditioning, and resulting health issues such as heat‑stroke, migraines and dehydration among students and staff. Afapna calls for investment in cooling infrastructure, shade, flexible scheduling and remote administrative work to protect the educational community.
