Navarra faces severe driving license examination delays

Navarra is facing a significant crisis regarding driving license examinations, characterized by excessive waiting lists for practical tests. Approximately 10,000 residents in the region have faced months of delays this year alone.

The shortage of driving examiners is cited as a primary cause of the systemic failure. Earlier this year, wait times ranged from three to six months. Although the Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) implemented a shock plan to alleviate the congestion, the situation reportedly worsened during the summer without a structural solution.

The delays impact various license categories, including motorcycles, and affect diverse demographics ranging from students attempting to balance academic responsibilities with driving lessons to adults requiring licenses for employment. Similar crises in waiting times have been reported across other autonomous communities.
