Navarra family receives over 4,000 euros monthly in public aid

A Moroccan family residing in the Pamplona region of Navarra receives more than 4,000 euros per month in public assistance despite having no labor income. The household consists of a 46-year-old woman and her two nephews, aged six and nine, whom she cares for in a foster care capacity.

The total monthly amount is composed of several distinct social welfare mechanisms. The foster care components include 850 euros for the first minor and 637.50 euros for the second, alongside specialized foster care compensation totaling 1,120 euros. Other contributing factors include the Minimum Vital Income (IMV), Child Assistance Supplements (CAPI), energy social bonuses, and subsidized housing.

While the case has sparked political debate regarding social dependency versus inclusion, the payments are described as being within the legal framework of the state's welfare system designed to support vulnerable units and children in foster care.
