Navarra health service sues adult diaper cartel for 25 million euros
The Navarrese Health Service (SNS-O) has filed an ordinary lawsuit seeking 25 million euros in damages resulting from a cartel of adult incontinence absorbent manufacturers. The legal action targets overcharges incurred between 1996 and 2014.
The cartel was previously sanctioned by the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) in 2016 for fixing prices over a seventeen-year period. The Navarrese government aims to recover these funds to reintegrate them into the public health system for patient care.
Navarra joins other Spanish autonomous communities, such as Catalonia, Extremadura, Aragon, and Galicia, in pursuing legal claims against the manufacturers to ensure that companies, rather than public funds, bear the cost of anti-competitive practices.
