Navarra political tensions rise amid UPN criticism and Podemos autonomy claims

In Navarra, political tensions are rising as UPN President Cristina Ibarrola criticized regional President María Chivite. Ibarrola accused Chivite of failing in public management and ethics, citing issues such as long medical waiting lists, a 150% increase in demand for protected housing, and poor educational results in PISA reports. Ibarrola further alleged that the current administration has overseen a decline in public services and increased citizen insecurity.

Simultaneously, Podemos Navarra is asserting its political independence. Party coordinator Neniques Roldán stated that the formation seeks to maintain its own distinct voice while continuing its collaboration agreement with the Contigo-Zurekin coalition through May 2027. Roldán emphasized the need for horizontal debate within the coalition, particularly regarding housing policies and the declaration of housing as a matter of public and social interest.
