Navarra promotes circular economy leadership at European summit in Sweden

Navarra has reinforced its position as a pioneer in the circular economy during a European meeting held in Avesta, Sweden. The event, titled ‘Experimentation Journey on Achieving Circularity’, was organized by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) as part of the ‘Innovation for Place-Based Transformation’ preparatory action.

Mikel Irujo, the Minister of Industry, Ecological Transition, and Digital Business, highlighted the region's potential in areas such as the valorization of agro-food by-products, industrial water reuse, and circular packaging. The forum brought together seven European regions to share governance tools, innovation, and collaborative strategies aimed at accelerating the transition toward circular economic models.
