Navarre prepares 1,165‑person safety operation for total solar eclipse
On August 12, a total solar eclipse will be visible from a section of Navarre. The regional government has organised a safety operation involving 1,165 individuals, including civil‑guard agents, fire‑fighter units, members of the Civil Protection Service and Traffic Service, as well as volunteers and municipal staff. The plan, presented by Inma Jurio, the councilor for Interior, Public Function and Justice, also includes a public‑information campaign offering advice on road safety, fire prevention and mobility during the eclipse.
The operational team will be composed of 454 Foruzaingo agents, 122 Navarre fire‑fighter agents, 25 Civil Protection personnel, six traffic officers, 380 civil guards, 75 national police officers and numerous local volunteers. Authorities emphasise coordination between emergency services and preventive measures to ensure safe viewing conditions for both residents and visitors travelling to the Foral Community for the event.
