Navarre universities address educational challenges and campus safety

Rectors from the Universidad Pública de Navarra (UPNA) and the Universidad de Navarra are addressing several critical challenges facing higher education. Key topics include the recent PISA 2025 results, which showed poor performance in mathematics, science, and reading for students in the Navarre region, and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on academic environments.

Additionally, the institutions are navigating demographic shifts, such as declining birth rates and the arrival of second-generation immigrants. To support the university community, the Government of Navarre and UPNA have signed an agreement to establish a ‘Punto Morado’ (Purple Point). This initiative aims to provide information, prevention, and support regarding gender-based violence on campus, utilizing student-led outreach and educational audiovisual materials.
