In a recent interview, he named Esteban Andrada as the best goalkeeper for the club over the last decade, citing his technical completeness, vision, and ability to play. He also noted that Agustín Rossi, currently playing for Flamengo, has developed into a highly complete goalkeeper, suggesting his current form exceeds that of recent Boca keepers.

Regarding the club's current situation, Navarro Montoya offered advice to young goalkeeper Leandro Brey. He suggested that if Brey is unable to regain a starting position at Boca Juniors, a loan move to another club might be beneficial to ensure regular playing time. He cited Agustín Rossi’s successful loan spell at Lanús as a precedent for how a temporary departure can help a player return more experienced and confident.
