Naveen Jindal advocates for polo's Olympic return

Naveen Jindal, owner of the Jindal Panther polo team, has expressed hope for the inclusion of polo in the Olympic Games should India host the event in the future. Speaking after his team lost 6-9 to the Vimal Arion Achievers in the Jindal Panther Cup final at the Jindal Polo Estate in Noida, Jindal noted that modern advancements in transportation and facilities make the sport's return more feasible than in previous eras.

Polo was last featured in the Olympic programme during the 1936 Berlin Games. India has formally submitted a bid to host the 2036 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, with Ahmedabad proposed as the central host city. The sport has deep historical roots in India, with the world's first polo club founded in Silchar, Assam, in 1859.
