Naver and Siemens discuss industrial AI collaboration
Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon and Siemens Group CEO Roland Busch met at the 19th Asia-Pacific German Business Conference (APK 2026) in Seoul to discuss the expansion of industrial artificial intelligence.
Choi emphasized that a true tipping point for industrial AI will only occur when the technology is accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises and partners, rather than being limited to large corporations. She noted that as AI's scope of work expands, the human role in verifying and judging results becomes increasingly critical. Success should be measured by how effectively AI solves real-world problems and how saved resources are redirected to higher-value tasks.
Roland Busch highlighted the importance of global cooperation to ensure industrial AI is implemented safely and reliably across entire industries. He proposed combining German engineering expertise with Asian technological innovation to address new industrial environments.
Following the discussion, Siemens executives visited Naver’s 1784 building to explore technical cooperation in areas such as digital twin technology, robotics, and robot foundation models. This follows a previous agreement between Naver Cloud and Siemens Korea to develop industrial solutions combining Siemens’ automation technology with Naver’s AI and cloud infrastructure.
