Naver secures $9 billion AI computing infrastructure deal with Brookfield

Naver has entered into a $9 billion (approximately 12 trillion won) agreement with global asset manager Brookfield to secure artificial intelligence computing infrastructure. Under the deal, a special purpose vehicle named Asset Co., established by Brookfield, will acquire GPUs and data centers to provide computing power to Naver Cloud.

This agreement fulfills a prerequisite for a $1 billion strategic investment by Nvidia, which is expected to become Naver’s third-largest shareholder following a third-party allotment of new shares. The partnership is part of a broader $10 billion global AI factory initiative involving Naver, Nvidia, and Brookfield.

To facilitate the agreement, Naver has provided a payment guarantee of up to 18.74 trillion won for Naver Cloud’s computing service fees through 2034. Naver plans to scale its AI infrastructure capacity to 55MW by early 2027 and reach 200MW by 2028, utilizing its ‘Sejong’ hyperscale data center as a primary hub for global expansion.
