Naver targets Mexico's AI market through government and corporate partnerships

Naver executives, led by CEO Choi Soo-yeon, visited Mexico as part of an economic delegation to discuss expanding artificial intelligence (AI) cooperation with the Mexican government and local IT companies. The leadership team met with key officials, including Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casanova and Science, Humanities, and Technology Minister Rosario Luis Gutiérrez, to propose collaboration on public AI transformation (AX) and sovereign AI strategies.

Discussions focused on building national-scale high-performance computing and AI clusters. Naver is also exploring a pilot project to implement digital twin technology in two major cities within the state of Querétaro, a region that hosts over 70% of Mexico's data center infrastructure.

During the Korea-Mexico Business Forum, Naver CDO Kim Kwang-hyun emphasized the importance of AI ecosystems that reflect a nation's specific language, data, and industrial characteristics. The company aims to connect South Korean AI capabilities with Mexico's manufacturing strength to enhance industrial competitiveness.
