Naver Webtoon appoints co-CEOs for Korean operations

Naver Webtoon has announced a leadership restructuring, appointing Yong-su Kim and Gyu-nam Kim as co-CEOs of its Korean entity. This move is designed to strengthen professional management within the Korean market while allowing Webtoon Entertainment CEO Jun-gu Kim to step down from his role at the Korean subsidiary to focus on global business operations and long-term growth strategies.

Yong-su Kim, who currently serves as President of Webtoon Entertainment, will concurrently serve as co-CEO of Naver Webtoon to ensure strategic consistency between headquarters and the Korean branch. Gyu-nam Kim, transitioning from Chief Risk Officer to Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), will focus on strengthening the domestic creator ecosystem and communicating with local partners and institutions.

This reorganization follows a leadership shift initiated in March, which established the President role. The company aims to improve global governance efficiency while maintaining a specialized management system tailored to the mature Korean webtoon market.
