Navi and DoT launch cyber safety campaign for festive season
Navi Limited, the Fintech Association for Consumer Empowerment (FACE), and the Department of Telecommunications’ Sanchar Saathi initiative have launched the ‘No ‘Ten’sion This Festive Season’ campaign. The initiative aims to combat the rise in digital fraud during the Indian festive period, specifically targeting scams associated with increased online shopping and digital transactions.
The campaign utilizes short-form videos to highlight ten common festive scams, such as fraudulent shopping websites, fake cashback offers, QR code fraud, and impersonation. It also promotes ten cyber safety habits, including the use of multi-factor authentication and regular updates to financial applications.
Through the Sanchar Saathi platform, citizens can report suspicious calls, SMS, and WhatsApp messages via the Chakshu facility. The Department of Telecommunications noted that reports made through this portal have helped prevent suspected cyber-fraud losses exceeding ₹5,000 crore.
