Navi Mumbai: BJP and Shiv Sena (UBT) clash over seized voter forms

A clash erupted between Shiv Sena (UBT) and BJP activists in the Kharghar area of Navi Mumbai after thousands of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) forms were discovered at a local photocopy shop.

Sena (UBT) workers confronted a man they identified as a BJP youth wing office-bearer who was allegedly getting the forms photocopied in bulk. Police seized the printed forms and took the individual into custody, though Sena (UBT) members alleged the man managed to flee the police station shortly after being brought in for questioning.

The incident has sparked concerns regarding the integrity of the voter list revision process. NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar questioned the transparency of the SIR exercise, suggesting it could be used to influence future election outcomes. While reports indicate four booth-level officers have been suspended in connection with the matter, local leaders are calling for a deeper investigation into how the official forms were obtained by private individuals.
