Navi secures $100 million investment from Prosus

Prosus, the Dutch-based global investor, will invest $100 million in the Indian fintech startup Navi. This transaction marks Navi’s first capital infusion from an institutional investor.

Led by co-founder and executive chairman Sachin Bansal, Navi provides various financial services including loans, insurance, mutual funds, and UPI payments. The company reported that its assets under management (AUM) have crossed ₹13,000 crore and it operates the fourth-largest UPI app in India. The fresh capital is intended to scale its lending and payments businesses, potentially supporting revived plans for a ₹3,000 crore initial public offering (IPO).

The investment is subject to regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Prosus cited Navi’s large user base, diverse business lines, and technology-driven approach as key reasons for the investment.
