Navigo annual transit pass arrives on iPhone

The annual Navigo transit pass is now available for iPhone users via the Île-de-France Mobilités app, arriving slightly ahead of the original September 2026 schedule. This follows the Android rollout that began in July 2026. To use the service, users must update to version 10.0 of the Île-de-France Mobilités app and use NFC technology to transfer their subscription from a physical card to Apple Wallet.

Île-de-France Mobilités is implementing a progressive rollout. Initially, only 1% of the 1.3 million annual subscribers—approximately 13,000 people—have access to the digital version. The authority aims to expand access gradually to prevent server overload.

While the digital transition offers convenience, such as using an Apple Watch or iPhone without unlocking the device, certain limitations remain. Users cannot purchase an annual subscription directly through the smartphone; a physical card must first be ordered and then dematerialized. Additionally, Imagine R student passes are not expected to be available on smartphones until 2027.
