Naviraí meeting promotes employment for former prisoners

Public authorities, civil society, and business representatives met in Naviraí, Mato Grosso do Sul, to discuss strategies for increasing the hiring of former prisoners. The technical meeting, held at the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS), is part of the Intersectoral Action for the Laboral Reinsertion of Former Prisoners.

The initiative aims to sensitize employers regarding the social and economic benefits of professional inclusion and to combat discrimination in formal hiring processes. The action is promoted by the Regional Superintendency of Labor in Mato Grosso do Sul, through the Labor Audit, in partnership with the State Agency for the Administration of the Penitentiary System (Agepen).

Aligned with the 'Programa Pena Justa' guidelines, the movement utilizes the '#ContrateEgresso' campaign to encourage participation from the productive sector. During the event, officials addressed the obstacles faced by individuals seeking professional placement and emphasized the need for coordination between penitentiary policies and the business sector.
