Navojoa and Central Region schools undergo fumigation for health safety

Health and educational authorities are intensifying fumigation and sanitary surveillance efforts in schools to prepare for the upcoming academic year. In Navojoa, local deputy Claudia Zulema Bours Corral is promoting a fumigation program in coordination with the Secretaría de Educación y Cultura (SEC). Targeted locations include several secondary schools, such as Escuela Secundaria No. 2 ‘Othón Almada’, to maintain sanitary conditions for students and staff.

In the Central Region, Jurisdicción Sanitaria 04 is coordinating with municipal and educational authorities to respond to requests for pest control. Faustino Aguilar Arocha, head of the sanitary jurisdiction, noted that while these efforts are permanent, they are critical before students return to classrooms. Authorities are also advising schools to remove weeds and objects that collect water to prevent mosquito breeding sites following recent rains.
