NavVis launches CLX hand-capture device for spatial documentation

NavVis has introduced the NavVis CLX, an agile hand-capture device designed for large-scale, daily documentation of the built environment. The device is intended to complement existing products like the NavVis MLX and NavVis VLX, specifically targeting high-volume routine documentation tasks.

The NavVis CLX utilizes a dual-LiDAR architecture to produce clean, low-noise point clouds. It is aimed at surveying and reality-capture companies that require efficient tools for tasks such as area referencing, site assessments, quantity take-offs, and LOD200 Scan-to-CAD/BIM or 2D drawings, where high-precision scanners might be inefficient for standard documentation.

Dr. Georg Schroth, CTO and co-founder of NavVis, stated that the device aims to close a market gap by combining user-friendliness, speed, and scalability with the professional quality and reliability expected from high-performance equipment, ultimately reducing total cost of ownership.
