Fátima Bosch faces potential arrest warrant in Thailand

Miss Universe 2025 Fátima Bosch is facing potential legal action in Thailand following claims by businessman Nawat Itsaragrisil. Itsaragrisil, a former director involved with the pageant, announced he is seeking an accelerated arrest warrant against the Mexican titleholder for alleged defamation, false accusations, and the dissemination of false information.

The dispute stems from a November 2025 incident during pageant activities in Thailand, where Bosch accused Itsaragrisil of verbal abuse and disrespect. Bosch maintains that she was simply setting boundaries and demanding dignity, stating, “Asking for respect is not a provocation.”

The Miss Universe Organization has issued a formal statement of support for Bosch, condemning intimidation and asserting that no woman should remain silent to protect a title. While Itsaragrisil has shared documents attributed to the Thai National Police, there has been no independent confirmation that an official arrest warrant has been issued.

Other figures, including Lupita Jones, have characterized the legal pursuit as a media campaign to discredit the reigning queen. Bosch has emphasized that her experience should serve as a lesson for other women to defend their dignity without fear.
