Naxos: Baby sea turtles appear at Agios Prokopios

Baby sea turtles have unexpectedly appeared at Agios Prokopios beach on the island of Naxos. The Naxos Wildlife Protection Association reported that the discovery came after a local beach bar owner noticed small turtles moving among the sun loungers.

Members of the wildlife group arrived at the scene to find some hatchlings already heading toward the sea. By following tracks in the sand, the team successfully identified the location of the nest. The area has since been fenced off and informative signs have been installed to protect the site, with more hatchlings expected to emerge from the nest.
