Nayab Singh Saini promotes affordable agricultural technology in Haryana

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed the closing session of the fifth ‘Innovative Farmers’ Meet’ organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Ladwa, Kurukshetra. During the event, Saini emphasized that true agricultural innovation must be affordable, easy to use, and locally repairable, ultimately reducing input costs and increasing crop returns for farmers.

Addressing challenges such as weather uncertainty, water scarcity, and declining soil health, the Chief Minister advocated for practices like direct seeding of rice, crop-specific micro-irrigation, and land leveling. He encouraged farmers to utilize soil testing and crop diversification to maintain fertility. To assist small-scale farmers who cannot afford expensive machinery, Saini highlighted the importance of cooperative societies and rental centers.

Additionally, Saini called for increased cooperation between the states of Punjab and Haryana in technology, skills, and trade to establish the region as a manufacturing and innovation hub.
