Nayanthara film ‘Hi’ set for August 28 release

The makers of the upcoming romantic comedy ‘Hi’ have announced that veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar will play a character named Parimala. The film, which marks the first collaboration between leads Nayanthara and Kavin, is scheduled for theatrical release on August 28.

Director Vishnu Edavan, a former associate of Lokesh Kanagaraj, describes the project as a wholesome family entertainer without villains. The story is set across Chennai, Coimbatore, and Pollachi. Other cast members include Prabhu and the late K. Bhagyaraj, who appears as a character named Vaathiyar.

Nayanthara noted in recent interviews that the film's set environment felt like a family, comparing the experience to her work on the 2008 film ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’. The film has received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board and is being produced by Zee Studios South, The Rowdy Pictures, and Seven Screen Studios.
