Nayarit authorities launch security operation in Compostela
Authorities in the Mexican state of Nayarit have launched an interinstitutional security operation in the municipalities of Compostela and San Pedro Lagunillas. The deployment involves state and federal agencies, including the State Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the State Attorney General's Office, the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), and the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA).
The operation includes the establishment of checkpoints, random inspections of individuals, vehicles, and motorcycles, and preventive patrols. The stated goal is to strengthen surveillance, prevent crime, and detect irregular activities. Officials noted that the inspections were conducted following established protocols and with respect for human rights. As of the latest report, no arrests or seizures of illegal objects or vehicles have been recorded.
