Aguerd sought a gradual, progressive reintegration into competitive football to ensure full fitness, whereas Real Sociedad coach Pellegrino Matarazzo reportedly wanted the player available for immediate use. Aguerd described his decision as a “responsible decision” to preserve his physical condition for a full season.
