Nayib Bukele inaugurates school and road in Ahuachapán

During El Salvador’s 205th Independence Day celebrations, President Nayib Bukele inaugurated a renovated school and a 15.14-kilometer road in the rural community of Los Toles, Ahuachapán. The infrastructure project, which connects Los Toles to the Guatemala border, aims to benefit approximately 4,000 families and 600 students by facilitating the transport of agricultural goods and improving access to education.

Following the viral imagery of students marching through mud during previous celebrations, Bukele announced further infrastructure commitments for three other communities: Caserío Los Mangos in Santa Ana, Caserío Canoas in La Libertad, and Cantón Tihuicha in Ahuachapán. These projects will include the renovation of schools and the paving of access roads.

In a separate address, Vice President Félix Ulloa spoke on the historical evolution of the nation, emphasizing the importance of Central American integration and the role of security in maintaining freedom. Additionally, the El Salvador Travel Market 2026 was highlighted as a strategic initiative to connect domestic tourism businesses with international wholesalers to boost the country’s global travel profile.
