Nayibet Morales dismissed from school directorship in Bolívar

Nayibet Morales, the director of the Unidad Educativa Nacional Simón Rodríguez in San Félix, Bolívar state, has denounced her dismissal from her position due to political reasons. Morales reported that she was notified of her “cessation of functions” after participating in peaceful demonstrations in favor of democracy.

According to Morales, officials informed her during a meeting that she could no longer serve as director because she “disregards the national government.” She emphasized that the decision was not based on her professional performance as an educator.

Morales also reported widespread political pressure within Venezuelan public schools, alleging that authorities compel teachers to attend government-organized mobilizations. She stated that directors are often issued lists to ensure staff attendance, describing the practice as non-voluntary and a violation of the right to free expression.
