NAZA documentary added to New York Film Festival slate

The documentary NAZA, directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, has been added to the main slate of the 64th New York Film Festival. The film, which will make its North American premiere at the festival running from September 25 to October 12, is an investigative work that examines the systems behind Israel’s bombing of Gaza and the resulting civilian casualties.

Produced by The Guardian and JW Films, and executive produced by Jonathan Glazer, the film is titled after a military acronym used by Israeli intelligence to estimate civilian deaths in airstrikes. The documentary builds on reporting originally published by +972 Magazine, Local Call, and The Guardian between 2023 and 2025.

NAZA is also scheduled to have its world premiere in competition at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, where it will compete for the Golden Lion.
