Nazilli advances fig sector through new infrastructure and industry visits

In Nazilli, efforts to strengthen the fig sector are advancing through both industry engagement and new infrastructure development. Nuri Arslan, President of the Nazilli Chamber of Commerce, conducted seasonal visits to local fig businesses to discuss production, export challenges, and the sector's role as a major economic driver for the region.

Simultaneously, the Nazilli Local Products Cooperative has broken ground on a new project in the Arslanlı neighborhood near Mergen Çayı. The development aims to establish Nazilli as a global hub for fig trade. The project will include 58 shops, cold storage facilities, laboratories, and social facilities. Nurettin Kırlıoğlu, President of the Nazilli Commodity Exchange, stated that the vision is to ensure Nazilli becomes the primary destination for international fig buyers, potentially creating employment for 2,000 people upon completion.
