Nazim Hikmet exhibition in Izmir to host special events

The ‘Romantika: Bir Ömrün Seyrüseferi’ exhibition, currently held at the Folkart Gallery in the Izmir Kulturpark Atlas Pavilion, will host four special events throughout October and November. The exhibition, which is scheduled to remain open until January 15, 2027, explores the life, art, and intellectual legacy of poet Nazim Hikmet through documents, manuscripts, personal belongings, letters, and photographs.

Curated by M. Melih Güneş, the program includes several themed gatherings. On October 15, the event ‘Dinmeyen Hasret Nazim Hikmet’ will feature insights from Zeynep Oral and Özcan Arca, alongside musical and theatrical references to artists such as Zülfü Livaneli and Genco Erkal. On October 22, a session titled ‘Nazim Hikmet’in Kuvayi Milliye Destanı’ will focus on the poet’s epic work regarding the Turkish War of Independence, featuring contributions from Namık Kuyumcu, Tuğrul Keskin, Nevzat Çelik, and Kıvılcım Erdem Karadayı, accompanied by music from Erhan Doğan.
