NBA 2K25 to be delisted and servers shut down by 2027

2K Games has announced that NBA 2K25 will be delisted from digital storefronts on October 30, 2026, with a complete shutdown of online servers scheduled for January 1, 2027.

The server closure will render several key modes unplayable, most notably the single-player MyCareer and MyTEAM modes. Because these modes rely on a constant connection to 2K servers for player progression and the use of Virtual Currency (VC), they will become inaccessible once the connection is severed.

While multiplayer, online leagues, and community sharing will also be discontinued, players who own the game prior to the delisting will still be able to download it and access offline modes such as Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA.

This decision follows a pattern seen in previous entries of the franchise, where older titles are retired approximately two years after launch to encourage players to migrate to newer releases. 2K has stated that maintaining servers for older titles becomes commercially unfeasible as the player base moves to more recent editions.
