NBA and WNBA partner with AT&T for high-speed arena network

The NBA, WNBA, and AT&T have announced a multi-year sponsorship extension and the deployment of a fourth-generation High-Speed Arena Network (HSAN). This infrastructure upgrade aims to create an advanced connectivity backbone across league arenas, production facilities, and distribution partners.

Utilizing over 68,000 miles of AT&T fiber optic infrastructure, the HSAN is designed to support more than 118 concurrent, low-latency, high-definition streams per game. The network is engineered to handle increasing bandwidth demands for live broadcasts, social media, and direct-to-consumer digital channels, with full implementation expected ahead of the 2027–28 NBA season.

According to AT&T Chief Marketing and Growth Officer Kellyn Smith Kenny, the partnership aims to move game content quickly and reliably across various platforms. NBA EVP of Global Marketing Partnerships and Media Kerry Tatlock noted that the next-generation network will be used to deepen fan connections through personalized and customized experiences.
