Dalton Knecht signs two-way contract with New York Knicks
Dalton Knecht has agreed to a two-way contract with the New York Knicks following his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers. The 25-year-old wing, who was the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft, becomes a new addition to the Knicks' roster, allowing him to alternate between the NBA team and its G League affiliate.
Prior to joining New York, the Lakers explored trade options for Knecht with several teams, including the Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and Milwaukee Bucks. However, after being unable to reach an agreement on trade assets, the Lakers ultimately waived him. Knecht expressed gratitude toward the Lakers organization and fans, stating that while his time in Los Angeles has ended, his passion for basketball remains unchanged.
For the Knicks, the signing provides depth at the wing position. To accommodate Knecht, the team reportedly waived Kevin McCullar Jr. to open a spot on their two-way roster.
