NBA expert projects losing seasons for Pacers and Suns
NBA expert John Hollinger has issued skeptical outlooks for the 2026-27 season regarding the Indiana Pacers and the Phoenix Suns.
For the Indiana Pacers, Hollinger predicts a 39-43 record, placing them 10th in the Eastern Conference and outside the top eight. Despite the return of star Tyrese Haliburton following an Achilles injury and the acquisition of Ivica Zubac, Hollinger suggests the team's core may struggle and that further roster moves might be necessary if the team fails to perform in the first half of the season.
The Phoenix Suns face similar scrutiny, with Hollinger projecting a 37-45 record, tying them for ninth in the Western Conference. Criticisms of the Suns focus on offseason decisions, including the trade for Miles Bridges and the loss of an unprotected 2033 first-round pick. Concerns were also raised regarding significant player extensions for Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks, which may limit the team's future flexibility.
