NBA franchises prepare for major roster shifts in 2026-27 season

The 2026-27 NBA season features significant roster shifts across several key franchises. The Philadelphia 76ers have undergone a major transformation, acquiring Jaylen Brown from the Celtics and signing LeBron James to a two-year contract. Their projected starting lineup includes Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, and Joel Embiid.

In Miami, Giannis Antetokounmpo has joined the Heat in a trade involving Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves enter the season following a playoff run where they defeated the Nuggets. Despite a late-season knee injury to Anthony Edwards, the team remains a competitive force in the West with Rudy Gobert and recent acquisition Ayo Dosunmu.

Other notable developments include the Los Angeles Lakers building a project around Luka Dončić.
