NBA legend Michael Redd defends Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa after nickname slip

During a July 19 appearance on “The Draymond Green Show” at Fanatics Fest in New York City, Washington Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa was unable to identify the nickname “The Human Highlight Reel,” which belongs to former NBA star Dominique Wilkins, who was seated beside him on stage. The mishap quickly spread on social media.

Former Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Redd responded on X the following day, defending Dybantsa. Redd noted that Dybantsa is a diligent student of basketball history, recalling his knowledge of other players, and argued that missing one nickname is not a serious flaw. Dybantsa later posted on Instagram and X, thanking supporters and emphasizing his focus on future performance.
