NBA players and teams prepare for 2026-27 season

As the NBA approaches the 2026-27 season, several teams and players are navigating roster changes and market uncertainties. The Boston Celtics are managing internal discussions regarding their lineup, including the role of Payton Pritchard and the development of young players like Jordan Walsh. Speculation has also surrounded Jaylen Brown following reported, though unsuccessful, trade discussions involving the Minnesota Timberwolves. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum continues to solidify his leadership role as he enters his tenth season.

In the free agent market, players like Cam Thomas remain without a team. After stints with the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks, Thomas is seeking a new opportunity to regain his scoring form, though questions remain regarding his fit within winning structures. Additionally, veteran Mike Conley has joined the Celtics to provide backcourt experience, and Isaiah Thomas has expressed interest in playing professionally outside of the United States.
