NBA preseason highlights Tristan da Silva and Knicks bench struggles

NBA preseason performances have highlighted contrasting outcomes for the Orlando Magic and the New York Knicks.

Orlando Magic forward Tristan da Silva emerged as a standout performer, averaging 16.5 points per game. Da Silva demonstrated increased aggressiveness and perimeter shooting, attempting an average of 9.3 three-pointers per game and shooting 37.8 percent from beyond the arc. Coach Sean Sweeney noted his improved positioning and effort on both ends of the floor.

Conversely, the New York Knicks have faced scrutiny regarding their bench depth following an 0-4 preseason record. Key reserves have struggled offensively, including Jose Alvarado, who has shot 29 percent from the field, and Miles McBride, who is shooting 21.7 percent from the field and 11.8 percent from three-point range. While Mohamed Diawara has shown defensive activity and a 45 percent field goal percentage, the team's backup unit remains a point of concern.
