The NBA has tied the record for the most countries represented in a single season, with athletes from 43 nations set to appear in the opening rosters for the 2026/27 season. While the number of countries has reached a record high, the total number of international players is 125, a decrease from the 135 players recorded in the 2025/26 season.

France has overtaken Canada to become the most represented nation in the league, providing 17 players, led by San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama. Canada follows with 16 players, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Other notable contingents include Australia with nine players, Germany with seven, Nigeria with six, and Serbia with six.

All 30 NBA teams feature at least one international player. The Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, and Washington Wizards lead the league with seven international players each. The league continues a trend of global growth, marking its 13th consecutive season with at least 100 international athletes.
