NBA Summer League highlights rookies Dybantsa, Okpara and Dëmin with strong showings

Washington Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa attracted most of the media attention during the 2026 NBA Summer League, but fellow rookie Felix Okpara also impressed. Brooklyn Nets sophomore Egor Dëmin delivered a standout performance, averaging 21.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals over five games. Recognized by ESPN as the league’s “Best Sophomore,” Dëmin set a rookie record with 34 consecutive games of at least one three‑pointer and logged 32 nights with multiple triples. He added 13‑15 pounds of offseason weight, improved his paint scoring to 84% around the rim, and shot 39% from three‑point range, showcasing a more complete game than his rookie season.
